The “Prester, Fest Brazilian Jazz Duo is a collaboration of 2 uniquely different talents and instruments, with a singular vision.... Brazilian jazz performed at it's highest level with authenticity, sophistication and passion. Bossa Nova classics and originals by Manfredo Fest, Phill Fest and Robert Prester form the exquisite and unique repertoire to which these 2 musicians each contribute their signature sound. Manfredo Fest was a key component of the bossa nova movement from Brazil in the mid 60's. His music and legacy, now carried forward by his son, guitarist Phill Fest, contribute greatly to this ensemble's timeless and traditional sound. Piano and guitar share and trade off rhythmic and improvisational duties, while also each offering their rich harmonic support in this well balanced duo. All this, along with classic repertoire and original compositions, makes for a colorful and uplifting experience you will not soon forget!

About Robert Robert Prester is an American concert and jazz pianist, best known for his virtuosic and articulate approach to both classical and jazz idioms, effortless improvisatory agility, and innovative approach to stylizing jazz standards and Great American Songbook repertoire.  His music has been documented on CD’s of his original compositions, and is heard on commercial recordings, live classical and jazz performances, and college performance lectures. His most recent recording, Rapsodya, features his original Piano Sonata in F Minor, as well as a collection of classical works by Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and Debussy. Dogtown is the latest recording of his jazz and Latin jazz compositions, and achieved heavy rotation radio air-play and #16 on the jazz charts.   About Adriana   Adriana Samargia is an American singer best known for her ageless sound, instrumental approach and vocally acrobatic treatment of jazz and Brazilian standards, sacred works and Great American Songbook classics. Her talents have spread to cartoon, television and radio through recorded roles and jingles - even voices inside of toys. Her current projects involve; a Cole Porter review, “Burning Cole,” a compilation of spirituals and classical sacred pieces entitled “Sounds of The Good Shepherd”, a collection of newly arranged pop favorites from the 70’s-90’s labeled “Our Way”, a sampling of jazz and Brazilian classics entitled “Double Standards,” a Golden Age Broadway Musical review “From the Theater District” and lastly “First Snow” - a Wintersongs-Christmas collection.

Prester/Samargia Jazz Project

About Robert and Adriana: Individually, Robert and Adriana are both busy solo musicians performing in a wide variety of classical and jazz venues in Florida, and internationally.  Together, they form a tightly knit, highly stylized musical unit of voice and piano, performing an eclectic blend of classic jazz, great American Songbook tunes, and Brazilian jazz.   Adriana’s angelic voice and highly articulate improvisations, coupled with Robert’s tasty harmonic accompaniments and solo virtuosity, create a unique and exciting sound that entertains those of all ages.  

Adriana Samargia is a south Florida classical and jazz musician. Along with a busy solo career she has been the Director of Music Ministries at Historic St. Ann Roman Catholic Church of West Palm Beach since 2005, where she directs all masses, funerals, weddings, leads choirs and trains soloists. She founded her vocal ensemble The Parson Brown Singers in 2001 and enjoys a wide array of performances with them including choreographed “flash mobs” advertising international corporations.  For recording projects in the early ’90’s she was honored with Downbeat Magazine’s Best Jazz Vocal Soloist award.  Adriana’s talents have spread to cartoon, television and radio through recorded roles and jingles – even voices inside of toys! 

Robert Prester began classical piano studies at the age of 3, later adding jazz to his repertoire.  Robert received quarter finals nomination for the 1988 Grammy awards for his first recording, Trillium.  His most recent recording Dogtown, presents Robert’s newest compositions, featuring his jazz and latin-jazz piano work.  Robert has performed solo concert recitals in New York, Maine, Florida, Massachusetts, and Hawaii.  His newest classical composition, a solo piano sonata, was recently premiered at the Festival Internacional de San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, and was performed at the National Gallery in Washington DC.  He now resides in Florida, teaching, recording, composing, and concertizing.
